What’s on the table this Easter? Is it more of a 3-course menu or brunch? We will help you plan your menu and inspire you to add a modern twist to your Easter dishes.
When we are cooking for our everyday life we start to lack the inspiration to create something new. Is it the same for you? When it comes time for big family celebrations we fall back even more on the well-tried classics: the goose at Christmas – your mother’s recipe, the favorite pasta for the evening with friends, and the classic holiday lamb roast for Easter. Some say, “Never change a running menu.” In principle, there’s not a good opposing argument. But, when we saw these images we were motivated to try something new.
We present culinary inspirations for the Easter season with a modern visual language and creative twists – from hearty to sweet, from brunch to a 3-course dinner, from spring-like to rustic.
Easter Brunch Buffet
Mini pizzas with fried egg look particularly appetizing on the buffet table. They are suitable for vegetarians and a wonderful modern combination of bread, egg, and herbs. It’s the perfect dish for any brunch not just Easter. Bread rolls filled with fried eggs and chives are a similar combination without having to stretch out pizza dough. We are also serving hot cross buns topped with bacon and cheese for brunch. These are Easter, rustic, and uses traditional breakfast bacon in a new way. A healthy idea and a feast for the eyes are avocado halves filled with quail eggs and bacon cubes. Make it vegetarian by omitting the latter and replace it with sprouts or grains.
3-Course Easter Menu
This year, dinner is off to a creative start with marinated caramelized salmon, garnished with purslane. The main course is deliberately robust: the leg of lamb is placed on the table as a whole. There are various side dishes served with it such as baked sweet potatoes and fried cauliflower. Everyone can help themselves. Linen napkins and grey or natural-colored table decorations go well with this. The dessert rounds off the Easter menu. Give the guests a sweet treat of spoon-able brownies baked in egg shells. If you are still looking for a drink-spiration: cocktails with carrot juice and gin are in.
Sweets for Easter
For Easter coffee/tea time we recommend a ricotta lemon cake with pear. This replaces the rich cream cake in a spring-like light way. If you want to serve something with a statement and make grandma’s eyes water, you can prepare small carrot cakes with a golden caramel glaze. They fit the holiday theme and are rich in antioxidants due to the carrots and a shining light for the guests.
